Tree Inventories and Management Plans

Tree inventories or management plans are required for developers that are looking to develop a piece of land that has on and off site trees that are within in the building envelope and/or will be effected by the building process. Many cities require a tree inventory of all the existing trees on and off site. Within that report a list of trees with a recommendation of wether they need to be removed or retained. For the trees that need to be removed there also needs to be a subsequent list of replacement trees and recommendation on what species, where they need to be planted and how many.

If you are a strata owner, whether it is residential or commercial, having a Tree Inventory every 5 years is paramount for the continuing health and safety for your soft scape on your property.

 

During a tree inventory normally level 2 risk assessments are conducted and all of the trees are tagged and located. Level 2 assessments are standard assessments, determining the healthy, identity, risk and if the tree needs a higher level of assessment, these are all done by visual inspection.

 

A report is compiled with all of the documented data and recommendations. This can include an existing tree inventory and management plan, suitability for tree retention tables based on the health of the trees, and/or suggested guidelines for tree protection fencing during the demolition of the existing building.

A Tree Inventory needs to be conducted by an ISA Certified Arborist and ISA Certified Tree Risk Assessor (TRAQ). All of our reports are made to municipal bylaws and ISA best management practices.
